Sketch Writing 101 (All Female-identified and Non-Binary Participants)
Class Dates: (10/2, 10/9, 10/23, NO CLASS ON THE 16th, 10/30, 11/6)
Learn the basics of sketch writing in a group female-identified, gender queer and non-binary people. Creating a focused sketch is a skill that will serve any writer.
In this class, students will work in a group setting to discuss ideas and outlines for sketches. As the class progresses, students will turn outlines into first drafts, and first drafts into final drafts using feedback from the class and instructor.
Don't worry if you don't have any writing experience! That's exactly what this class is for.

Heather Meyer is a humor writer, performer and playwright. She is a writer on the international animated series, Uma and Devan: Namaste. She is an alum of the Brave New Workshop main stage and is the creator of the annual sketch comedy game show, Women's History Month: The Historical Comedybration (with fabulous prizes). Her satirical comedy essays have been published on Reductress.com, The Belladonna Comedy and The Cooper Review. She made the short film Zombie Sweater out of spite. She has an MFA in Playwriting and is an alum of the Second City Satire Writing Program.
