Improv Level 4 - BIG AND STUPID with Mike Fotis
Listen, subtlety is great. Who doesn't want a scene where a character enters a room, stands in front of their scene partner and announces that they love them? It's great! Subtlety is good. Realism is good...BUT SOMETIMES...
We want to get BIG and be STUPID and experience the JOY of being onstage with their scene partner
We want our characters to burst through the door, slip on a banana peel, fall to their knees and confess confess their undying love to their scene partner. And we want that scene partner to react with SOBS OF JOY/CONFUSION/ANGER/NAME YOUR EMOTION.
Learn how to dive into big choices. Allow your environment to be a character in the scene. Don't just have a small reaction to what your scene partner says. Make it the most romantic, saddest, joyful, scary thing you've ever heard.
